The Mull Highland Gathering is going ahead this year

MULL & HIGHLAND GATHERING – Thursday 22nd July 2021

As a result of Covid-19 our regular Highland Games has had to cancel. This is mainly because the Mull Highland Games fits into the Highland Games circuit – and with many other games cancelled and competitors unable to travel, the usual games would not be viable.

However, the Games committee decided that another year without an event was unacceptable. This year we are holding a special event ‘Mull & Islands Highland Gathering.

A real community event with mainly local participation. Indeed the day should more accurately reference a Highland Gathering where clans people come together to meet, compete and ‘blether’.

The programme will also deviate from the regular games but will certainly provide entertainment within an environment conducive to friendship.

Outline programme: 10.00 March to Games Field; 10.30 programme on field will begin with heavy events at the north end and track and field to the south.

The musicians will be playing throughout the day; the producers market will run from 10.30 until 15.00; art competitors will have their work on display with winners announced at 14.30.

Also local crafts will be on display and for purchase throughout the day.

Please Note: there may be additional events on the day and ones in which you can take part so please listen to the announcer who will update us throughout the day.

Admission to the Field will be free; (there will be boxes for donations)

Food and drink on sale at the Producers Market (or bring a picnic).
